Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards

Quentin Tarantino has a new film in the works.  He will once again join up with the Weinstein Co. to create "Inglorious Bastards". The film will be about a group of soldiers in World War II, stuck behind enemy lines.

While Tarantino acquired the title and remake rights of the 1978 Enzo Castellari film of the same name, he said that screenplay is original.

Filming will be in Europe, and is expected to be done in time to premiere at the Festival de Cannes in May.  The Weinstein company will co-finance the film, distribute it domestically and oversee production and worldwide marketing.  they will also be looking for a major film studio to help pick up part of the tab in exchange for foreign film rights.

Lawrence bender will be producing the film along with Erica Steinberg.

There is no word yet on casting, but Brad Pitt's name has been mentioned as a possible lead.
