John Singleton In Hospital After Suffering a Stroke
It has been reported that director John Singleton, who is best known for his films "Boyz n the Hood" and "Poetic Justice", is in the hospital after suffering a stroke.

The 51-year old Oscar-nominated director had the stroke on Wednesday while in an undisclosed facility. He is currently in intensive care. There were no other details as to his condition.

Singleton's nomination was for best director and best screenplay for 1991's "Boys n the Hood". He was the first African-American nominated for best director. 

He recently worked on FX's "Snowfall" as creator and director, and executive producer.
