Ravi Patel has joined the cast of the upcoming live-action adaptation of "Harold and the Purple Crayon". He will star alongside Zachary Levi, Lil Rel Howery, and Zooey Deschanel.
The film is based on the best-selling 1955 book by Crockett Johnson. It follows the story of a young boy named Harold who creates his own worlds around him using a purple crayon. The book turned into a series of seven books in total.
Carlos Saldanha will direct from a screenplay by David Guion & Michael Handelman. John Davis will produce through his Davis Entertainment banner.
Patel will next be seen in Lionsgate's "The Valet", which is slated to be released later this year.
