Acapulco Renewed for Third Season on Apple TV+ - Production Begins This Spring

Apple TV+ has renewed the bilingual comedy series "Acapulco" for a 10-episode third season. The show, created by Austin Winsberg, Eduardo Cisneros, and Jason Shuman, has been a hit with audiences around the world and is set to return this spring with production beginning soon.

In the third season, the show will follow older Maximo (played by Eugenio Derbez) as he returns to Las Colinas, a place he no longer recognizes. Meanwhile, in 1985, younger Maximo is on the rise to success, potentially putting all his relationships at risk.

The series features a talented ensemble cast including Eugenio Derbez, Enrique Arrizon, Fernando Carsa, Damián Alcázar, Camila Perez, Chord Overstreet, and more, all of whom will be returning for the third season. Sam Laybourne will serve as showrunner.

"Acapulco" is a feel-good show with a lot of heart and laughter that has been a hit with audiences all over the world, according to Morgan Wandell, Head of International Programming for Apple TV+.

The show is produced by Lionsgate Television, 3Pas Studios, Zihuatanejo Productions, and The Tannenbaum Company for Apple. "We at 3Pas Studios are thankful to Apple TV+, the perfect home for Acapulco," said Eugenio Derbez, star and executive producer. "We have always believed that the stories we tell about our communities and cultures can resonate with global audiences."

Seasons 1 and 2 of "Acapulco" are now available for streaming on Apple TV+.
