There's a long-standing horror movie cliché: the solitary black character always meets their end first. But what happens when the entire cast is black? As the tagline aptly suggests, "We Can't All Die First" (though technically possible, it'd certainly be a brief horror flick). Brought to you by the Director of Ride Along and Barbershop, THE BLACKENING, a unique fusion of comedy, horror, and thriller, is set to premiere in theaters on June 16, 2023.
Lionsgate, in partnership with FlickDirect, is delighted to extend an invitation to a select few for an advance screening of the film on Tuesday, June 13 at 7:30 PM at AMC Theaters in Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, and Pensacola.

The Blackening tells the chilling tale of a group of Black friends who reunite for a Juneteenth weekend getaway, only to find themselves trapped in an isolated cabin with a deranged killer. Playing by his twisted rules, they soon realize they're in the middle of a deadly, real-life game. Directed by Tim Story (Ride Along, Think Like A Man, Barbershop) with a screenplay by Tracy Oliver (Girls Trip, Harlem) & Dewayne Perkins (The Amber Ruffin Show, Brooklyn Nine-Nine), The Blackening satirically dismantles genre clichés, presenting the morbidly humorous query: if the entire cast of a horror movie is Black, who meets their end first?
