Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor: Unveiling the Powerhouse Cast of 'Superman: Legacy' in DC Studios' Cinematic Revival

It was reported that Nicholas Hoult will be playing Lex Luthor in the upcoming film, "Superman: Legacy". With the core cast now complete, including David Corenswet as Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, director James Gunn is shaping up to deliver a fresh take on the iconic DC Comics characters.

Despite being a contender for the titular role of Superman, James Gunn, co-chief of DC Studios and the mastermind behind the film, gave him the role of Luthor, the industry titan with a bald head and an unwavering obsession with bringing down the Last Son of Krypton.

With the actors' strike now in the rearview mirror, Gunn has been actively filling out the ensemble cast. Recently, Gunn took to social media to announce María Gabriela de Faría's casting as another formidable villain, the Engineer. On the superhero front, Superman will be joined by a star-studded lineup, including Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho.

"Superman: Legacy" marks the inaugural feature film in DC Studios' ambitious relaunch of the DC universe in both film and television. Co-chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran unveiled their plans for this cinematic universe in January, promising a fresh and innovative approach to beloved characters.

In a recent social media update on November 11, James Gunn shared that despite the challenges posed by the actors' strike, the production team's dedication ensured that "Superman: Legacy" is still on track for its originally scheduled release date of July 11, 2025. This news comes as a relief to fans eagerly anticipating the next chapter in the DC cinematic universe.
