Channel 4's live HD channel, hundreds of hours of programming, and selected same-day premieres will join Disney+ subscriptions at no additional cost.
Disney+ subscribers in the United Kingdom and Ireland will soon have another way to watch British television. The Walt Disney Company and Channel 4 have announced a new agreement that will bring Channel 4's live HD channel, hundreds of hours of on-demand programming, and selected same-day premieres to Disney+ beginning in early 2027.
The programming will be available to existing Disney+ subscribers at no additional cost, giving viewers access to Channel 4 content without having to leave the streaming service.
The agreement includes Channel 4's main linear television channel in HD, along with an on-demand library featuring established series and new productions. Channel 4 programming will appear in a dedicated section within Disney+, using the platform's existing navigation and viewing experience.
Disney+ subscribers in the UK and Ireland will get Channel 4's live HD channel and hundreds of hours of programming at no additional cost.
Among the upcoming titles are the drama Maya, starring Bella Ramsey; the comedy Stepping Up, featuring Denise Welch; and the reality series Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.
The on-demand selection will also include Big Mood, Tip Toe, and the documentary series 24 Hours in A&E.
Some new Channel 4 programs will become available on Disney+ the same day they premiere on the broadcaster's own channel, allowing subscribers to follow selected shows without waiting for a later streaming release.
Adam Smith, Chairman of Direct-to-Consumer at Disney Entertainment, said partnerships with local broadcasters are an important part of the company's international streaming strategy.
"Local broadcaster partnerships are very important as we build our content libraries and serve fans around the world," Smith said.
Channel 4 Chief Executive Priya Dogra said the agreement would provide additional opportunities for viewers to discover the broadcaster's programming.
"We're thrilled to be working with Disney+ to give audiences even more ways to discover and enjoy Channel 4's brilliant shows," Dogra said.
For Disney+, the agreement represents another step toward expanding its international programming beyond the company's established entertainment brands. Adding Channel 4's live channel also introduces a different type of viewing experience alongside the platform's existing on-demand films and television series.
For Channel 4, the partnership creates another distribution outlet for its programming, potentially reaching Disney+ subscribers who may not regularly watch the broadcaster through traditional television or its own streaming service.
The arrangement also reflects a broader change in how television companies distribute their programming. Rather than relying exclusively on their own platforms, broadcasters and streaming services are increasingly exploring partnerships that make content available through multiple destinations.
Although the agreement adds Channel 4 programming to Disney+, it does not replace the broadcaster's existing television and streaming services. Instead, it provides an additional way for audiences in the UK and Ireland to access selected content.
The Channel 4 section is expected to launch on Disney+ in early 2027. A specific launch date and the complete programming lineup have not yet been announced.
