Tito Jackson of Jackson 5 Passes Away at 70, Sons Announce Heartbreaking News

Tito Jackson, best known for his role in the legendary Jackson 5, has passed away at the age of 70. His sons, Taj, Taryll, and TJ Jackson, announced the tragic news via Instagram. 

The post read, "It's with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson is no longer with us. We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being. Some of you may know him as Tito Jackson from the legendary Jackson 5, some may know him as "Coach Tito" or some know him as "Poppa T." Nevertheless, he will be missed tremendously. It will forever be "Tito Time" for us. Please remember to do what our father always preached and that is "Love One Another." We love you Pops."

Jackson was born and raised in Gary, Indiana, and was the third of 10 children, including his brothers and bandmates as well as Randy, Rebbie, La Toya, Faloola Tika and Janet Jackson. His parents are Katherine Jackson and the late Joe Jackson. Tito, alongside his siblings Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael, achieved massive success as part of the Jackson 5 and later The Jacksons. The group's hit singles like "I Want You Back" and "ABC" played a crucial role in the rise of Jacksonmania, making a significant impact on the music industry. The Jackson 5 was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 and earned three Grammy nominations during their career.

In addition to his work with the Jackson 5, Tito Jackson pursued a solo career, releasing albums such as "Tito Time" in 2016 and "Under Your Spell" in 2021. He recently collaborated with Brazilian singer Natalia Damini on the song "Attitude." 

His sons are from his previous marriage to Delores Martes.
