Two Nicolas Cage favorites are getting new 4K Ultra HD SteelBook releases with Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and bonus features this fall.
Two of Nicolas Cage's most recognizable action movies are heading back into the spotlight this fall. Con Air and National Treasure will both arrive on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray SteelBook on November 10.
The two films come from very different points in Cage's career, despite arriving only seven years apart. In Con Air, he plays a former Army Ranger caught aboard a prison transport plane after dangerous inmates take control of the aircraft. National Treasure, meanwhile, casts Cage as historian and cryptologist Benjamin Franklin Gates, who becomes embroiled in a race to uncover a legendary treasure hidden somewhere in American history.
Both films have been restored in 4K and will feature Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
Released in 1997, Con Air remains a signature action film of the 1990s. Directed by Simon West and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, the film combines elaborate action sequences with a large ensemble of memorable characters.
Cage stars as Cameron Poe, a former U.S. Army Ranger who has been released on parole after serving time for manslaughter. His journey home takes a dangerous turn when the prisoners aboard his transport plane seize control and attempt to escape the country.
The cast includes John Malkovich, John Cusack, Steve Buscemi, and Dave Chappelle, with the movie combining explosive set pieces, memorable dialogue, and larger-than-life performances. The film received two Academy Award nominations.
The limited-edition Con Air SteelBook includes both a 4K Ultra HD disc and a Blu-ray disc containing the bonus features "A View from Above" and "The Destruction of Las Vegas." A digital code is also included. Con Air previously became available digitally in 4K in 2025.
Seven years after Con Air, Cage teamed with Bruckheimer again for National Treasure, a PG-rated adventure that trades prison planes and criminals for historical mysteries and hidden clues.
Directed by John Turteltaub, the 2004 film follows Benjamin Franklin Gates, a historian and cryptologist who believes an extraordinary treasure is hidden somewhere in America's history. His search eventually leads him to one of the country's most closely guarded documents: the Declaration of Independence.
Gates must decipher clues connected to the document while racing against those who want to claim the treasure for themselves. The result combines historical puzzles, action sequences, and a treasure-hunting adventure built around American landmarks and artifacts.
The National Treasure 4K Ultra HD disc will feature Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, along with commentary from director John Turteltaub and actor Justin Bartha. In addition to its physical release, National Treasure will be available digitally in 4K on November 10.
The two films also capture very different sides of Cage's blockbuster career. Con Air arrived during his run of larger-than-life 1990s action movies, while National Treasure introduced him to a new generation through a family-friendly adventure that went on to become one of his most recognizable roles.
