hi i'm allison with FlickDirect and I'm with Richard Roundtree and Jesse T usher talking about shaft good morning - I want to start with you mr. Roundtree it's been almost 50 years since you created this iconic character how does it feel bringing it to a new generation you know what blessed that this franchise has so it's I'm still enjoying it you have the likes of samuel l.jackson I know it's all good it's all good Jesse tell me when you got the role what was your first thought I mean it is iconic it is I got my first looks like a whirlwind of thoughts there was a lot going on I you know I immediately I started thinking when are we gonna start shooting it you know how long do I have before it could have gone a million different way very happy trying to get ready I think the three of you had a really great chemistry what kind of things did they impart on you what did you learn from them professionalism professionalism you know just working alongside of it they make it very clear that there's no room for selfishness and fill me not in good building extremely professional very prepared you know just ready to go any given moment we can care about the project and that was something that I was very happy what did you learn from this millennial [Laughter] watched my son interact and seeing that they both learn from each other mm-hmm that was phenomenal especially given the fact that we father's day yeah you see all of that interaction and see the passing of the baton if you will that was all good tell me with this film there's a lot more humor than in the past of the chef series was there any concern that fans of the originals would maybe not you know feel that that energy that that comedy this segment could I use that term your seamless with regard to the three generations and Sam and Tim have taken this to a new level his hard-hitting it's got action but the human comes out of reality yes and that's what makes it special yes it's phenomenal for me to watch with an audience and they're laughing so I gotta watch it again now all right talking about humor the girls did a great job of this give me your best samuel l.jackson impression pressure oh alright Jesse we're gonna let you know you can't compete with that thank you gentlemen so much for your time I loved the film I thought it was terrific really entertaining [Music]
