Synopsis of Ben-Hur (1959)

Set in Judea during the height of Roman rule, Ben-Hur follows Judah Ben-Hur, a wealthy Jewish prince whose life is shattered after a tragic misunderstanding with his childhood friend Messala, now a powerful Roman tribune. Falsely accused of treason, Judah is sentenced to years of brutal slavery while his mother and sister are imprisoned. Stripped of his title and freedom, he survives unimaginable hardship, fueled by a singular desire for justice.

After reclaiming his strength and status through sheer will, Judah returns home seeking revenge, leading to one of cinema's most legendary chariot races. Yet as his path intersects with the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, his thirst for vengeance slowly gives way to something deeper. What unfolds is an epic story of resilience, forgiveness, and spiritual transformation set against a grand historical canvas.
