Superman Will Return
Superman will likely return to the silver screen in 2009 despite "Superman Returns" worldwide box office take not meeting studio expectations. Warner Brothers president Alan Horn and director Brian Singer both fell the film has reinvigorated the Superman franchise and is worthy of a sequel.

Though they initially hoped to gross $500 million worldwide Superman Returns has so far pulled in just over $360 million (boxofficemojo.com) with a production budget of around $270 million. Horn belives the film will cap out at around $400 million worldwide when all is said and done.

Horn Attributed the below expected performance to a lack of action scenes in the film taking away from its core audience of young males. Expect Superman to return in a more action packed sequel in the Summer of 200
