The soundtrack also earned rave reviews. Rolling Stone says, "The soundtrack to this summer's strangest movie phenomenon, Snakes on a Plane, is proving as buzzworthy as the film itself."
Cobra Starship's "Snakes on a Plane (Bring It)," the album's lead single is the #1 most requested record on KROQ in Los Angeles and is also #1 on MTV2. The New York Post states, "Every other band may as well hang up its guitar strings: You've got the song of the year right here." The single features guest appearances by The Sounds' Maja Ivarsson, William Beckett of The Academy Is … and Gym Class Heroes' MC Travis McCoy.
"Snakes on a Plane is a cultural moment and we are thrilled that the soundtrack is a part of the phenomenon," said Jason Linn, executive vice president of New Line Records. "The album's sales are fantastic and the Cobra Starship single is gaining more heat since the film opened last week."
The Snakes on a Plane soundtrack also includes a new track from Gnarls Barkley co-creator Cee-Lo called "Ophidiophobia;" a remix from New Line Records' artist The Sounds; exclusive remixes of platinum-selling acts such as Panic! at the Disco, The All-American Rejects, and Fall Out Boy; and an acoustic track from neo-prog-rockers Coheed and Cambria.
