Orlando, FL. - Elvira will be making her first appearance in Florida in over fifteen years and you ll only find her at the Wyndham Orlando Resort on Oct. 17-19, bringing with her a host of horror film murderers, monsters and madmen.
Cassandra Peterson, who portrays the iconic temptress, headlines Florida s Largest Horror Convention. The fright-filled three day event is celebrating its sixth anniversary and promises more thrills than ever.
We want people to know we put on a horror convention as big as those found anywhere in the country, as we ve proven in the past, and as usual this year we are bringing a variety of horror guests from classics like Creature from the Black Lagoon to modern sensations like Saw , said promoter Petey Mongelli.
Malcolm McDowell, from the cult classic Clockwork Orange will be appearing to greet fans along with Angus Scrimm Phantasm , Doug Bradley (Pinhead) Hellraiser series, Ken Kirzinger (Jason) Freddie vs. Jason , Daeg Faerch Rob Zombie s Halloween , Shawnee Smith and J Larose from the popular Saw franchise, Jason Mewes (Jay) Clerks and Mallrats , among many others.
Also making her first convention appearance ever is Rochelle Davis of The Crow
Another component of the celebrity festivities will be a 30th Anniversary celebration of the classic film Dawn of the Dead , featuring George Romero, and the cast of the film including Ken Foree, Gaylen Ross, David Emge, Scott Reiniger, Tom Savini, David Early, Mike Christopher, and Clayton and Sharon Hill.
The weekend will start off with the 2nd Annual Zombie Walk, hosted by the Deadite Empire. A huge success last year, the show couldn t start out this year without it.
There will also be a Zombie Luau party at the Wyndham, poolside on Friday night, benefiting the charity Simba s Pride.
We try to take in all that is part of the horror culture and make it part of Spooky Empire s Ultimate Horror Weekend. This year we will have a special tattooing component of the convention, Screamin Ink, as well as the Freak Show Film Festival, a huge costume contest, seminars and various Q&A sessions with the celebrities and a video game room, Mongelli said.
Add to all of that, large rooms full of vendors selling every kind of horror memorabilia imaginable and its obvious this is an event no horror fan worth his or her machete will want to miss.
