Claire Danes has been cast to star in an upcoming drama for Showtime titled, "Homeland".  The actress will star as a CIA officer who investigates the mystery surrounding circumstances of an American soldier who was held prisoner in Iraq.

Showtime entertainment prexy David Nevins said, "Claire is an amazing actress with an intense and varied body of work. We feel incredibly lucky to have drawn someone of her talent and accomplishment to what promises to be an extremely important project for us."

Danes won an Emmy this year for her portrayal of Temple Grandin in the HBO film by the same name.
