Warner Bros Looking Into A Shining Prequel
It's strongly rumored that Warner Bros are 'quietly exploring the possibility' of making a prequel to Stanley Kubrick's horror movie The Shining.
A spokesman for the studio told the LA Times that the project is 'at a very early stage'.

The prequel is thought to center on caretaker Jack Torrance before his time at the Overlook Hotel. Torrance the caretaker played by Jack Nicholson in the 1980 original, takes his family to the hotel for the winter, where, in the isolation he descends into madness.

Also rumored to be on the project is writer and producer Laeta Kalogridis, who has worked on both Avatar and Shutter Island with both James Cameron and Martin Scorsese in the past.

The Shining was adapted from the Stephen King novel of the same name, and is regarded as a classic by many horror fans.
