Fox had planned on making a "Daredevil" reboot, but now those plans could be placed on hold.
The film was to be a darker version of the character, with the script being based on the Frank Miller/David Mazzuccheli's "Born Again" storyline. The story features a heroine addicted Karen Page selling her friend Matt Murdock's identity. The info finds its way to Kingpin, who uses it to try to destroy Murdock.
The film's director, Joe Carnahan, took to Twitter last night and said, "Think my idea for a certain retro, red-suited, Serpico-styled superhero went up in smoke today kids. We shall see. Time is NOT on anyone's side."
Looks like the film won't be picked up as is. Which now leaves Fox only 2 months to pen a new script, or the rights to the character will revert back to Marvel.
