Michael Clarke Duncan, arguably most known for his role in "The Green Mile", passed away yesterday, September 3. He was 54.
He didn't get into acting until his 30's, but that didn't stop him from being a success. Duncan's resume includes "Armageddon", ''Planet of the Apes", "Kung Fu Panda" and "Sin City", among others. His roles varied from "tough guy" to "funny guy" to "sweet guy", and he was believable in all of them. He was nominated for an Oscar for his role in "The Green Mile".
Tom Hanks, co-star in "The Green Mile", said, "I am terribly saddened at the loss of Big Mike. He was the treasure we all discovered on the set of 'The Green Mile.' He was magic. He was a big love of man and his passing leaves us stunned."
Duncan was at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he was being treated for a heart attack he had in July, when he died.
He was set to wed TV personality Rev. Omarosa Manigault in January.
