Fox's proposed reboot of Marvel's "Daredevil" is all but dead in the water with the rights to the character returning to Marvel Studios any day now.
Ben Affleck, who played Matt Murdock in the original 2003 movie, has revealed he was approached to reprise the role of the superhero that was blinded after coming into contact with radioactive material from a passing truck.
"I got contacted about it, and I was like, ‘That wouldn't be a reboot if I were involved. But I really hope they do a good job, because that's a great property.'
When asked if he would ever consider playing Murdock again, the "Good Will Hunting" actor said, "I would if there was a script I liked, I had a negative experience with the one comic book I liked, it was just a movie that didn't work. It's such a shame, because Daredevil's a great book, a great idea. And then right after that, the studios figured out that it was better to make the movies good, and then they started making them cool and investing in them."
Marvel has long been in favor of rebooting the Daredevil character, and with the right returning to them they may decide to pursue the project themselves.
