With the entertainment industry abuzz about the recent announcement of Disney / Lucasfilm merger, the news of more "Star Wars" films has kept the rumor mill busy.
Yesterday, a rumor was posted online about the possibility of Matthew Vaughn ("X-Men: First Class" and "Kick Ass") coming aboard to helm "Star Wars: Episode VII", and fueling the rumor is his recent departure from "X-Men: Days of Future Past". Also, a rumor about Harrison Ford being "open to the idea of doing the movie" is out there. This would be a pretty big surprise given Ford's reservations about even discussing the films and feeling that the Han Solo character wasn't interesting". Neither of these rumors are confirmed, of course.
It is altogether possible that Vaughn will be in the list of directors that Disney will be considering for the film, but at the moment, there is nothing in the works.
The company is looking for "Star Wars: Episode VII" to have a 2015 release.
