Third Hulk Standalone Film Rumor Squashed By Whedon
A third "Hulk" standalone movie has been rumored to be part of Marvel's phase 3 plans for a little while now. The hot rumor was that after the second "Avengers" movie, Hulk played by Mark Ruffalo, would be too dangerous to remain on earth and would be sent into the far reaches of the solar system.

This story line would be loosely tied in with Greg Pak's comic book "Planet Hulk" some even speculated that Hulk would return in "Avengers 3" with his space minions and wreak havoc on the earth again tying into another of Pak's comic books "World War Hulk".

Hopes of this becoming reality now seem to be dashed. "Avengers" supremo Joss Whedon was asked by IGN about the rumor and he replied,"Well I'm really not supposed to comment, but no, that's nonsense."

Was Whedon being truthful or just throwing a curve ball? No one will know for sure until "Avengers 2" has hit theatres in 2015.
