Author James Ellroy and New Regency are shopping around the project, which was written by Ellroy. The series will be a drama that will be offered to networks as a straight-to-series commitment.
"L.A. Confidential", the novel wirtten by Ellroy, eventually was adapted in a film in 1997 and starred Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe, Kim Basinger and Guy Pearce.
