The 2003 action film, set in Victorian times, featured famous literary characters such as Allan Quatermain, Captain Nemo, the Invisible Man, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. It was Sean Connery's last action film before his retirement.
Originally planned as a franchise, the film only grossed $180 million worldwide so those plans were put on hold.
Now, 20th Century Fox will try to breath life back into to franchise with John Davis producing.
