Vampire Drama The Passage Gets Pilot Order from Fox
Fox has greenlit a pilot order for The Passage, a drama series that is based on the fantasy trilogy book series by Justin Cronin.

The story focuses on a girl named Amy who needs to save the human race in a post-apocalyptic vampire filled world.

Liz Heldens (Friday Night Lights) is the writer for the show, and also executive produces alongside Matt Reeves (Felicity) and Adam Kassan via 6th & Idaho and Ridley Scott and David W. Zucker via Scott Free Productions.

The Passage has been in development for some years now. It began in 2007 with a bidding war between studios and Fox 2000 got the first book to produce.  Since then, the project moved to 20th TV and has taken off from there.

Author Justin Cronin will also be co-producing the show.
