Dwayne Johnson appeared at CinemaCon for Baywatch but skipped Universal's The Fate of the Furious presentation as reports of his feud with Vin Diesel continued.

It looks like there is still some tension between Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson. After reports of the stars feuding on the set of The Fate of the Furious surfaced last year, Universal indicated that the pair had worked through their differences. However, a new report suggests the rift remains and that the actors are being kept apart as much as possible during the film's promotional tour.

"They're keeping them separated as much as possible," a source told The Hollywood Reporter.

Johnson's absence from CinemaCon for The Fate of the Furious presentation added to the speculation. While Johnson had returned to work on his HBO series Ballers, he had appeared at CinemaCon only hours earlier to promote Paramount's Baywatch. He also appeared during Sony's presentation to promote Jumanji.

Tensions between Johnson and Diesel first became public during production of The Fate of the Furious in August 2016, when Johnson criticized some of his male co-stars in a social media post without identifying anyone by name.

"My female co-stars are always amazing, and I love 'em. My male co-stars, however, are a different story," Johnson wrote, before criticizing some of his male colleagues as unprofessional.

Reports at the time identified Diesel as the target of Johnson's frustration and suggested that disagreements over professionalism and scheduling had contributed to the tension between the two actors.

Universal has downplayed the significance of Johnson's absence from the The Fate of the Furious CinemaCon presentation, maintaining that the actors have simply been on different schedules during the film's promotional tour.

Both actors are expected to appear at the film's New York premiere ahead of The Fate of the Furious opening in theaters April 14.
