Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego? Well, she's heading over to Netflix to become an animated series.  The show will star Jane the Virgin‘s Gina Rodriguez and Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), who will voice Player, Carmen's chief accomplice, and friend.

The new 20 episode series will feature all new storylines, but will also take a look into Carmen's past.  

The original show, which was based off a 1980s video game, aired on PBS from 1991-1995 and starred Lynne Thigpen.  

The Netflix series will be produced by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and executive produced and directed by Duane Capizzi (The Batman) and co-executive produced by CJ Kettler (The Tick). Caroline Fraser will be the executive in charge of production. 

The series is slated for release in 2019.
