World War Z Sequel Could Be Close to Production With David Fincher
Paramount Pictures will be moving ahead with production for a sequel to "World War Z", the zombie-themed thriller starring Brad Pitt. The official statement hasn't been made yet, but expected to be done in a few weeks.
It was reported last year that the sequel would be taking place, but that plans were put on hold during Pitt's divorce from Angelina Jolie. However, now with a new chairman in place, Jim Gianopulos, people are saying that the project will now move forward.
Pitt has been keen on making the sequel, personally reaching out to Fincher in the past to direct. And while Fincher is reportedly wary of sequels, he may have given it serious thought, due to Pitt's involvement.
This would be the fourth film that the duo worked together on. They previously teamed up for "Se7en," "Fight Club," and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."
Sources say production would most likely begin in the beginning of 2018
