BBC America's Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency made a splash in Hall H on Sunday. Fans of the show were treated to a new clip of the second season, which is only halfway through production.
Regarding Dirk's imprisonment, creator Max Landis said, "There's a guy who wants to dissect his brain in that scene."
Based loosely on the Douglas Adams novel of the same name, the quirky murder mystery adventure includes time travel, a corgi, and a "good" assassin who believes she's destined to kill people, among other things.
A second clip showed Ken (Mpho Koaho), stuck in a taxi in a white room. He pleads with Sgt. Hugo Friedkin (Dustin Milligan) to let him out because he's been there for 70 days but he just keeps getting electrocuted. Hugo wants to know about Ken's super powers, which he denies even having.
"It's such, such a bummer, we can't find any of these cool guys like the human bomb, the visible guy or the shape-shifter," Friedkin says. "Dirk Gently and Icarus are lame and annoying."
New to the cast is Tyler Labine who plays Sherlock Hobbs, a guy who wants to join Dirk's team. Then there's Alan Tudyk who, in his own words, "play[s] a bad man who is after and attacking the anomalous. I have a big gun and I shoot it."
Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency returns for Season 2 this fall on BBC America.
