Star Trek: Discovery Gets Renewed for Second Season
CBS All Access has announced that they have renewed Star Trek: Discovery for a second season. The series broke the record for subscriber sign-ups for the digital service.

"In just six episodes, Star Trek: Discovery has driven subscriber growth, critical acclaim and huge global fan interest for the first premium version of this great franchise. This series has a remarkable creative team and cast who have demonstrated their ability to carry on the Star Trek legacy. We are extremely proud of what they've accomplished and are thrilled to be bringing fans a second season of this tremendous series", said Marc DeBevoise, President and Chief Operating Officer, CBS Interactive.

Star Trek: Discovery stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Jason Isaacs, Anthony Rapp, Michelle Yeoh, and Shazad Latif and takes place before the original Star Trek series timeline. 

The first season will be in two chapters. The first chapter will end on November 12 and the second chapter will debut in January of 2018.
