The 1994 film "Four Weddings and a Funeral" is being adapted for television. Hulu is developing the series which will be written and executive produced by Mindy Kaling, who created, stars in and executive produces "The Mindy Project".
Kaling will executive produce alongside Matt Warburton, Richard Curtis, Jonathan Prince, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title, and Howard Klein from 3 Arts.
The series will follow the film's main plot, following a group of friends whose lives come together during four weddings and a funeral, the settings changing with the seasons.
Kaling already has a home with Hulu, who airs "The Mindy Project".
The 1994 version of "Four Weddings and a Funeral" launched the career of Hugh Grant and also starred Andie MacDowell. The $3.7 million budgeted film grossed $246 million at the box office.
