Heathers Reboot TV Series Debut Delayed After Parkland School Shooting
The upcoming Heathers reboot TV series, which will be aired on Paramount Network, has been delayed.

The series was to premiere on March 7 but in light of the recent shooting at a Parkland, Florida high school, the debut has been put off.

The Paramount Network made a statement about the issues, saying, "Paramount Network's original series "Heathers" is a satirical comedy that takes creative risks in dealing with many of society's most challenging subjects ranging from personal identity to race and socio-economic status to gun violence. While we stand firmly behind the show, in light of the recent tragic events in Florida and out of respect for the victims, their families and loved ones, we feel the right thing to do is delay the premiere until later this year."

The show is a reboot of the 1988 film that starred Winona Ryder and Christian Slater as a couple set out to destroy those they hated in high school.

The TV series pilot was written by Jason Micallef. He will also be the executive producer and showrunner. Leslye Headland directed the pilot. Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi will also be executive producing for Lakeshore Entertainment.
