The 1994 film starred Tom Cruise as Lestat and Brad Pitt as Louis. The cast also included Christian Slater, Kirsten Dunst, Antonio Banderas, Thandie Newton, Stephen Rea.

Paramount TV and Anonymous have optioned the book series with Anne Rice, her son Christopher Rice, Anonymous Content's David Kanter and Steve Golin serving as executive producers.
