Buffy the Vampire Series Reboot in Development
It has been reported that a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot is currently in development over at 20th Century Fox Television.

Joss Whedon, creator of the original series, will be executive producing, with writer Monica Owusu-Breen penning the script. The reboot will see an African-American actress take over the role as Buffy, previously played by Sarah Michelle Gellar. The 1992 film that started it all starred Kristy Swanson in the title role.

There is no network attached to the project yet, but given the clamor for rebooted TV series as of late, there is sure to be one soon.

The original series starred Gellar, Nicholas Brendon, Alyson Hannigan, Anthony Head, James Marsters, Emma Caulfield Ford, and David Boreanaz. It aired for seven seasons between 1997 and 2003.
