Jason Reitman to Direct Next Ghostbusters Film

Jason Reitman will be directing the next Ghostbusters film, due in the summer of 2020. Reitman's father, Ivan, directed the original film.

There's no word on exactly what the plot will be but we do know that it will be based on the 1984 original and not 2016's all-female cast version which starred  Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. There's also no word on whether or not actors from the original cast, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and the late Harold Ramis, will be in the film. 

Reitman, along with Gil Kenan, also wrote the screenplay. Production is slated to begin this summer.
