It has been announced that Johnny Flynn has been named to portray David Bowie in an upcoming biopic. The film will be titled "Stardust" and will focus on Bowie in his Ziggy Stardust era.
However, the film isn't welcome news to everyone. Bowie's son, Duncan Jones, has made his thoughts clear on the upcoming film's use of his father's music.
"Pretty certain nobody has been granted music rights for ANY biopic. I would know", said Jones via Twitter. He went on to say, "I'm saying that as it stands, this movie won't have any of dads music in it, & I can't imagine that changing. If you want to see a biopic without his music or the families blessing, that's up to the audience."
Jones also said who he would like to see make a biopic - Neil Gaiman and Peter Ramsey. Both men expressed gratitude to Jones for the nod.
"I second that emotion, and I'm a huge Bowie fan", said Ramsey and Gaiman responded by saying, "You are the best. Thank you."
