Kenny Ortega, the man behind the High School Musical franchise, has signed a multi-year deal with Netflix.
His first two projects will be a musical comedy series titled Julie and the Phantoms and a musical adaptation of the Elsi Primavera book series titled Auntie Claus.
Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said, "Throughout the course of his career, Kenny Ortega has inspired generations of artists and audiences alike. Ortega has earned three Primetime Emmys as well as two DGA awards.
