Carroll Morton, director of Film New Orleans, the city's film office, said, "People aren't shooting today or tomorrow on physical locations. They're shifting over to soundstages. There's been no real disruption yet, but we're watching and waiting."
A state of emergency was declared by Gov. John Bel Edwards after commenting that the "entire coast of Louisiana is at play in this storm." Barry is expected to make landfall on Saturday as a Category 1 hurricane but parts of New Orleans are already under water due to the rain.
"I encourage all staff and residents to take the time today and tomorrow morning to prepare for whatever this storm may bring", said Mayor Michael Yenni of Jefferson Parish, a coastal town.
Some of the shows filmed in the area are OWN's Queen Sugar, USA Network's Queen of the South and The Purge.
