Everything old is new again it seems. Almost forty years after its debut, the hit television series Knight Rider is becoming a major motion picture. Spyglass Media Group will be working with Atomic Monster's James Wan and Michael Clear to develop a more modern take on Michael Knight, the crime fighter who is assisted by his talking car, KITT.
Few details regarding the plot have been released but supposedly it will be a modern take that will maintain the anti-establishment tone of the original. Former video game scribe, TJ Fixman is adapting the screenplay.
Popular in the mid-1980s, Knight Rider amassed a large cult following and made actor David Hasselhoff a household name. It spawned spinoffs, merchandising, video games, books, and even its own convention, Knight Con. Judson Scott will serve as an executive producer.
