Peacock has announced that it has picked up two seasons of the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" reboot drama series. The series will be called "Bel-Air". Will Smith made the announcement today on YouTube.
The storyline will be based on Morgan Cooper's viral video that showed the classic sitcom reimagined as a drama. Cooper will co-write and direct the series as well as executive produce alongside Chris Collins and Will Smith.
The show will take place in the present-day and will chronicle the struggles of a young Will and his journey to bel-Air.
In other "Fresh Prince" news, a reunion special for the series will be taking place and will debut on HBO Max around Thanksgiving. The reunion will feature Smith, Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Joseph Marcell, Daphne Maxwell Reid, Alfonso Ribeiro, and DJ Jazzy Jeff.
