Adam Wingard, director of "Godzilla vs. Kong", has signed on to direct Universal Pictures' "Hardcore". The film is based on an original story and comic series written by Robert Kirkman, the creator of "The Walking Dead".
The action/sci-fi/thriller focuses on the story of a soldier whose job it is to save the world.
Wingard will also be co-writing the film, alongside Will Simmons (Sleepy Hollow). Kirkman will serve as producer alongside David Alpert, Bryan Furst, and Sean Furst with Wingard executive producing.
"Godzilla vs. Kong" was a big success for the director, earning over $432 million at the global box office.
