Daniel Baldwin is no stranger to addiction and sobriety, battling his demons on a daily basis. However when he asked his friend, PJ., who was in rehab at the time, to make his top ten "bucket list", He was surprised to see Running with the Bulls as one of PJ's entries. At that point Daniel told PJ if he could maintain his sobriety for two years, Daniel would take him to Spain to fulfill that dream. Over three years into PJ's sobriety, they two still hadn't made the trip and in one ill-fated evening, PJ went back to heroin and overdosed. Daniel then trained to run with the bulls as a tribute to PJ and filmed this documentary to honor him. Through candid discussions with PJ's and his own family, Daniel offers a glimpse into how addiction not only affects the addict but their family members as well. Poignant, timely, and devastating, My Promise to PJ is a film everyone should see.
