CNN Plus to Charge $5.99 a Month for New Service

It's being reported that CNN will be charging $5.99 per month for their upcoming subscription-based streaming service, CNN Plus. The service will make its debut sometime later this month.

CNN's rival, Fox News, also has a paid subscription-based service called Fox Nation, but they certainly aren't alone in having streaming counterparts to their channels. They are, however, the only two that charge.

With the release of this new service, CNN will have a single app where customers can toggle back and forth between CNN and CNN plus, making it more user-friendly.

News anchors and producers that have joined the service include Poppy Harlow, Anderson Cooper, Brian Stelter, Chris Wallace, formerly of Fox News Channel; Kasie Hunt, formerly of NBC News; and Audie Cornish, formerly of NPR. Eva Longoria will host a Mexican cuisine series, and Don Lemon will host a live talk show with a live studio audience.

Those who sign up early within the first 4 weeks will receive 50% off that price for the entire lifetime of their subscription.
