Robert Downey, Jr. Teams up With Amazon for New Film and TV Series

Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey's Team Downey, alongside producer Joel Silver, has teamed up with Amazon Studios for a deal that includes feature film and TV projects.

The film and series will be based on the popular "Parker" series of crime fiction novels by Donald E. Westlake, under the pseudonym Richard Stark. "Play Dirty" will be the first film released, with Downey, Jr. starring as Parker, a professional thief.

Robert Downey, Jr. was nominated for his roles in "Chaplin" and "Tropic Thunder". We will see him next in Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer". 

Joel Silver is a veteran producer who has worked on many projects, including Suburbicon, Veronica Mars, Project X, The Book of Eli, Splice, Orphan, RocknRolla, Speed Racer, Fred Claus, The Brave One, V for Vendetta, House of Wax, the first three Matrix pics, Swordfish, Richie Rich, Demolition Man, Hudson Hawk, Predator and Predator 2, Die Hard and Die Hard 2, Road House, Action Jackson, Jumpin' Jack Flash, Brewster's Millions and 48 Hrs.
