Live-Action Speed Racer Series Coming To Apple

Apple has a live-action "Speed Racer" series in the works, and J.J. Abrams will be the executive producer.

"Speed Racer" originated in the 1960s as a manga series as "Mach GoGoGo". In 1967, the series came to the U.S. as "Speed Racer" and became extremely popular.

Ron Fitzgerald and Hiram Martinez will write and executive produce, as well as serve as co-showrunners.

Abrams and Bad Robot have other TV projects in the works also, including a "Justice League Dark" series for HBO Max, a U2 documentary, and a high-budget sci-fi drama "Demimonde" for HBO.
