The lead has been cast in the upcoming Hellboy reboot "The Crooked Man". Jack Kesy, who played Black Tom in "Deadpool 2", will play the popular half-demon.

The film will show Hellboy in the 1950s, stranded in Appalachia. He comes across a community of witches that he discovers is led by someone who he has a past with.
Hellboy was created by writer-artist Mike Mignola. He is a half-demon, half-human creature, born from the union of a demon and a human woman. The character is known for his distinctive appearance, which includes his red skin, horns, and massive stone right hand. The character has been adapted into various forms of media, including films, television series, and video games. He has become a beloved figure in the world of comics, with fans drawn to his unique appearance, complex backstory, and unflinching dedication to doing what is right.
In 2004 the first "Hellboy" feature film was released starring Ron Perlman, Selma Blair, Jeffrey Tambor, Karel Roden, Rupert Evans, and John Hurt. A sequel to that film was released in 2008, titled "Hellboy II: The Golden Army", bringing back the original cast. David Harbour starred as the title character in the 2019 reboot of the franchise, alongside David Harbour, Milla Jovovich, Ian McShane, Sasha Lane, Daniel Dae Kim, and Thomas Haden Church.
Kesy's breakthrough role came in 2014 when he was cast as Gabriel Bolivar in the FX horror series "The Strain". His performance as a rock star turned vampire earned critical acclaim and helped establish him as a rising talent in Hollywood. He went on to appear in a number of popular TV shows, including "The Blacklist", "Ray Donovan", and "Claws".
Kesy made his feature film debut in 2016 in the crime drama "The Masterpiece", playing the role of Peter. He followed this up with a memorable turn as Black Tom Cassidy in the 2018 superhero film "Deadpool 2". His performance as the villainous mutant earned him praise for his ability to bring a sense of menace and intensity to the character.
In addition to his work on screen, Kesy has also been involved in theater productions in New York City. He has worked with notable theater companies such as La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club and the Irish Repertory Theatre.
Brian Taylor will be directing the film, which is slated to begin production within the next few months.
