CBS Cancels "True Lies" After One Season - The Lowest-Ranking Scripted Series of the Season

CBS has decided to cancel "True Lies" after just one season. The series was the lowest-ranking scripted series of the season.

The series stars Steve Howey and Ginger Gonzaga as the husband and wife duo made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis in the 1994 movie of the same name. Howey starred as Harry, the spy who worked for the U.S. intelligence agency Omega Sector and Gonzaga starred as the wife, Helen, a woman bored with her everyday life, until, that is, she finds out what her husband does for a living.

"True Lies" hailed from Matt Nix, McG, Cameron, and 20th Television.

Howey and Gonzaga starred alongside Erica Hernandez, Omar Miller, Mike O'Gorman, Annabella Didion, and Lucas Jaye.

The 1994 film was directed by James Cameron and was a commercial and critical success, grossing over $378 million worldwide and receiving positive reviews for its action sequences, humor, and performances. "True Lies" is considered one of the best action-comedy films of all time and is often cited as one of Cameron's best works.

Steve Howey is an American actor best known for his role as Kevin Ball in the Showtime series "Shameless." He also starred as Van Montgomery in the WB/CW series "Reba," which aired from 2001 to 2007, but his "Shameless" role proved career-changing, as he received critical acclaim for his portrayal of the complex and often troubled character.

Ginger Gonzaga has appeared in several television shows, including "Togetherness," "Mixology," "I'm Dying Up Here," and "Space Force." She is also known for her recurring role as Christy in the popular Netflix series "Insatiable."
