Apple has announced that pricing for its Apple TV+ streaming service has gone up. The second price jump this year, the new cost will be $9.99 a month in the U.S., up from $6.99. The annual price will now go from $69.00 to $99.00.
"Since launching four years ago, Apple TV+ has made history for streaming services by crossing major milestones in a short span of time, thanks to its extensive selection of award-winning and broadly acclaimed series, feature films, documentaries, and kids and family entertainment," said a company spokesperson in a statement.
The price for Apple Arcade will also be going up. The Individual plan (Apple TV+, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, and iCloud with 50 GB) increases from $16.95 to $19.95 a month; the Family plan, which can be shared between up to five people (Apple TV+, Apple Music, Apple Arcade and iCloud with 200 GB), goes from $22.95 to $25.95 a month; and Premier, also shareable up to five people, (Apple TV+, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, Apple Fitness+ and iCloud with 2 TB) goes from $32.95 to $37.95 a month.
Also going up is the cost of Apple One multi-service bundles. Launched on November 1, 2019, Apple TV+ is known for original programming that includes Emmy-winning series "Ted Lasso," "The Morning Show," "Lessons in Chemistry," "Invasion," "For All Mankind," "Severance," "Bad Sisters," "Mythic Quest" and "Pachinko," as well as the 2022 Oscar best picture winner, "CODA."
