Alien: Earth at SXSW – Immersive Experience & Premiere Details

FX's highly anticipated sci-fi horror series, Alien: Earth, is set to make a major impact at this year's SXSW Festival, one of the world's premier celebrations of film, music, and interactive media. As part of the festival's immersive activations, FX is offering fans a thrilling firsthand experience inspired by the show's eerie and suspenseful world.

On March 7th and 8th, from 2:30 PM to 10:00 PM, attendees in Austin, TX, will have the chance to explore a mysterious wreckage site in the heart of the festival. This interactive event will allow visitors to uncover new details about the series, score exclusive merchandise, and take part in photo opportunities—but there's a catch. A containment breach has occurred, and hidden dangers lurk within the wreckage.

From the moment fans enter the site, they will be immersed in the chilling atmosphere of Alien: Earth. Participants will be scanned for alien parasites before receiving their credentials and mission briefing. Once inside, they will embark on an exploratory mission through the debris of a crashed alien ship, where they will come face-to-face with alien specimens and remnants of the catastrophe. However, not all creatures survived the crash intact, and attendees must tread carefully—something deadly is still lurking in the shadows.

This 360-degree marketing campaign is just the beginning. FX has also announced that Alien: Earth promotions will continue to unfold in the coming months, featuring social video teasers, high-impact out-of-home (OOH) advertising, multi-market stunts, and two additional immersive experiences leading up to the show's release. To amplify its SXSW presence, The Westin Downtown Austin, overlooking the immersive experience, will be wrapped in Alien: Earth key art for the duration of the festival.

Inspired by Ridley Scott's iconic Alien franchise, Alien: Earth introduces a new chapter in the legendary sci-fi horror saga. The series follows a gripping story in which a mysterious spacecraft crashes on Earth, setting off a chain of events that forces a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a diverse team of tactical soldiers to confront an unimaginable threat. FX's highly anticipated series is helmed by acclaimed creator Noah Hawley, known for his work on Fargo and Legion.
