For the third time in as many years, NBCUniversal is increasing the price of Peacock, its streaming service, showing the company's confidence in the platform's growing value and evolving content slate. Beginning , new and returning subscribers will see higher monthly and annual rates for both tiers of the service, with existing subscribers experiencing the change starting on or after , depending on their billing cycle.

The price hike affects both of Peacock's primary subscription plans. The ad-supported Peacock Premium will rise by $3 to $10.99 per month, while the mostly ad-free Peacock Premium Plus will also go up $3 to $16.99 per month. Annual pricing is being adjusted accordingly: $109.99 per year for Premium and $169.99 per year for Premium Plus.

With these increases, Peacock now outpaces several competitors in pricing, including the ad-supported and ad-free options available from Netflix, Disney+, Max (formerly HBO Max), and Paramount+.

In addition to the price bump, NBCUniversal is also testing a new, lower-cost subscription tier. Tentatively called Peacock Select, the tier is being piloted at $7.99 per month or $79.99 annually. It will offer current-season episodes from NBC and Bravo, along with a curated selection of library content. This tier could provide a more affordable entry point for viewers who want access to network staples without the full lineup of sports and originals.

The pricing update comes at a time of growing momentum for Peacock. Recent seasons of breakout reality shows like Love Island USA and its spinoff Love Island: Beyond the Villa have drawn sizable audiences. Meanwhile, upcoming content is designed to maintain that momentum and broaden appeal across demographics.

Peacock's original programming slate continues to expand with new scripted series such as The Paper, fresh seasons of reality juggernauts like The Traitors, and a steady stream of NBC and Bravo content, including Saturday Night Live, Law & Order, Chicago Fire, and The Real Housewives franchises. Popular film titles such as Jurassic World Rebirth, How to Train Your Dragon, and Wicked: For Good are also set to debut on the platform.

Perhaps the most significant draw is Peacock's growing portfolio of live sports. The streamer is preparing for the highly anticipated return of the NBA to NBC in , marking the league's comeback to the network after a 23-year hiatus. That's in addition to flagship properties like Sunday Night Football, the WNBA, Premier League, Big Ten football, and Spanish-language FIFA World Cup coverage. In 2026, the platform will stream Super Bowl LX, the NBA All-Star Weekend, and the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics and Paralympics. NBCU claims that Peacock will deliver more live sports content in 2026 than any other U.S. streaming platform, including Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+, Hulu, Max, Apple TV+, and Netflix combined.

As of Q1 2025, Peacock reached 41 million paid subscribers, up from 36 million at the end of 2024. Much of that growth came from a deal with Charter Communications, which bundled Peacock Premium with the Spectrum TV Select package, expanding reach to traditional cable households. Revenue increased 16%, and operating losses narrowed significantly to $215 million, down from $639 million during the same quarter a year prior.
