As the highly anticipated final chapter of Stranger Things comes to Netflix, many people are excited to reminisce on the infamous moments from the previous seasons. While the memorable music moments fill the memory soundtrack, the food moments are equally as enticing. Eggo wants to add to that tasty spread.
Stranger Things fans know that Eleven was obsessed with Eggo waffles. While that plot line is not as prevalent in the later seasons, it is part of the show’s core. Previously, Eggo has shared specialty waffle ideas related to the show. The newest offering gets everyone’s attention at the table.
The newest launch is a special strawberry red waffle. The limited-edition Stranger Things Homestyle Waffles is the brand’s first-ever strawberry red waffle.
As Alicia Mosley, Vice President of Marketing, Frozen Foods at Kellanova said,

Having been part of this cultural phenomenon from the beginning, Eggo is excited to delight fans with limited-edition products and experiences that allow them to enjoy the delicious taste of Eggo at the center of their watch parties.”
The new, limited-edition red strawberry waffles will be available at select retailers starting in October. The suggested retail price is $3.59 for a 10-pack box.
Additionally, Eggo will be offering a giveaway starting on Friday, October 3. Starting at 11 a.m. ET, a special Eggo waffle drop happens on Instacart at www.instacart.com/store/brands/eggo/stranger-things. The specialty waffles will be $0 per box, while supplies last. Orders will have Instacart fees, and other terms apply. One redemption per account. Three other drops will happen on subsequent Fridays in October.
While many people will run to get a few boxes for their Stranger Things watching party, the waffle itself is quite interesting. Although fruity waffles are familiar, it is the bold color that makes a big impact.
Visuals are a huge food trend. From curious shapes to vibrant colors, people want the food to look as exciting as it tastes. The old phrase about the camera eating first continues to apply.
It will be interesting to see how Stranger Things fans transform these specialty waffles into over-the-top creations. Whether it is an homage to the Upside Down or something more uplifting, the possibilities are many.
Personally, my preference would be to combine these new strawberry red waffles with fresh strawberries, chocolate chips, and a hot honey. The contrast of sweet and heat is not only a great flavor combination, but it captures the chaotic Stranger Things world.
